Hope is a drug and has the stronghold on my heart.
It’s with me first thing in the morning.
As a I lay my head to rest at night.
Like coffee, it’s that adrenalin rush
When everything around me seems to be failing apart!
Reaching out through the darkness in
Despair, I find hope unshaken but not stirred, shining so bright!

Hope moves within me with every intake of breath.
Its inspiration brings a knowing that better things are to come,
And with it’s open hand it gives me the courage to close
The door on all negative thoughts as I glance over my shoulder.
I see hope waiting, and calmly walk toward its burning light of hope.

Hope provides me with the positive mind-set
To afford continued good health.
It gives me the strength to keep showing love,
Allowing myself to be loved and to support and
To care for those I love the most.
It fills me with a strength and boldness,
Which drives me to continue on life’s paths
With a focused determination but always with my friend hope.

So let’s have three cheers for hope.
